The Second Half of My Horror October

So the second half of my horror film a day in October did not go as well as the first. I had 5 days where I didn't watch a film. Those where the 18th, 19th, 20th, 24th and 25th. I did however manage to fit all the films I meant to watch in. I just moved the films around and somehow found the time to finish. In total I watched 33 horror films in 31 days.

There were some disappointments in the second half. The most disappointing of the month was It Comes at Night. It was a slow burn and it was interesting but close to the end things started taking off for a very short time and then the film was just over. It seemed like it was just getting good when it ended. Other disappointments were I Am Mother, which is the only film I would not call horror of all of these, It Follows, The Host and The Autopsy of Jane Doe. These all left me unsatisfied after watching and not in the way that I wanted more just slightly confused as to why.

There were a few more interesting films. I think my strangely favourite find was Final Prayer. The title was changed from The Borderlands to Final Prayer. This is a film I had never heard about before I started looking for films to watch in October and I had no idea what to expect. I thought it was great. Another film that was great was Ghost Stories. I did not know what to expect with that film either and I was very happy with what I got. Other surprising good finds were The Wailing, Gerald's Game and Veronica.

The classics were great and did not disappoint. The Omen, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Jacob's Ladder all met expectation. Midsommer also didn't disappoint. It was honestly great. Another great one was 28 Days Later. As someone that doesn't like zombie films, I was hesitant about adding 28 Days Later, but I have heard a lot of very good things about this films and it was great.

I also liked Bird Box and Errementari.
